The Wedding Feast at Cana
1563
oil on canvas, 666 x 990 cm
Louvre, Paris, France

This huge picture (22 feet high by 33 feet wide) is located at the end of the same gallery in the Louvre as the Mona Lisa. There is always a crowd around the Mona Lisa; so many people that the Mona Lisa is almost impossible to see; only a few people are looking at this interesting painting.

No digital image that a website could deliver can do justice to this much canvas. We have a high resolution version of this picture (1 Meg) that does show more detail than the enlargement of the picture above, however it takes about 3 min at 56 K bps to download the image, so don't download it unless, you have the memory and disk space for it, and you want to spend some time viewing it. Download big version of Veronese's Marriage at Cana.

The guests include Venetian princes and the musicians in the painting are Venetian artists of the period, including: Titian, Veronese, his brother Benedetto, Tintoretto, Bassano, and Palladio.
