Diptych de Melun

Diptych de Melun was commissioned by Etienne Chevalier, treasurer to King Charles VII of France, for his own tomb. The left panel shows Madonna who is possibly Agnes Sorel, the mistress of Charles VII. The right panel shows Etienne Chevalier himself, being presented (in heaven?) by his patron saint, St. Stephen.
