Born: Seligenstadt (near Frankfurt am Main), Germany; about 1435 [or 40]
Died: Bruges Bishopric of Liège, Holy Roman Empire [now Belgium]; 11 August 1494

Probably trained in the workshop of Rodgier van der Weyden. Thus his style is Flemish not German. He worked in Bruges, Flanders.
