A Note to Artists
If you find your entry not to your liking there are several
things you can do. Please contact us, we want to help you present your art in
the best possible way. There are several ways you can improve your entry in
the museum.
- Send us scanned (png) versions of your art by email or ftp. By making the
high resolution scans yourself you guarantee that what the public sees is
what you want them to see. You should include copyright permission with your
submissions. We will select one scan to make into a thumbnail and display
with your name in the gallery, the rest will be included in a place where
anyone may view them. Copyright will be indicated near the thumbnails and
on the art itself.
We will also accept good quality color photographs or printed reproductions.
We charge a single fee of $15/each for scanning and placing them in the museum.
- For ten US dollars a month you can have a super-entry. It includes two larger
thumbnails, a short one paragraph biography, and a link to another website
if you wish. You get to choose the thumbnails and the text that goes with
your super-entry. You can still place as many pictures in the museum as you
want, but only two thumbnails will be visible "up-front". We bill
by the year, payment in advance.
- You can ask us politely to remove you from the museum. We really want to
give the general public a feel for the breadth of contemporary art, so we
are not keen on doing this, and if we do remove you, you lose the advertising
potential of thousands of people who will see your art here and may never
see it anywhere else. Currently about 75 people an hour, 24 hours a day come
and look at more than three pictures in our museum. That is about 54,000 people
a month. Some are repeat visitors, but by any measure there are a lot of people
that use the Tigertail Virtual Museum.
If you don't find yourself in the museum and would like to be included please
email (or ftp) us a CV and about a dozen sample scans of your work. We will
submit your portfolio to our Artists Selection Panel for judging and will let
you know if you have been included. Just as in point two above, you can send
us flat reproductions, but if we want to include you, we will charge you for
scanning. We will not scan the pictures before deciding to include you.
