Application Tigertail Virtual Museum |
"I don't have the money to help the Tigertail Virtual Museum, but I want to gain all the member privileges for free."
In response to several comments that were not phrased quite as clearly as the one above, we decided we will give six-month courtesy memberships to deserving applicants. We call these scholarships. Who is deserving of a scholarship and who is not is the right of Tigertail Associates to decide; there is no fairness involved in the decision, and the decision is final.
You may wonder at all the relatively personal questions asked below. It helps us figure out what sorts of things we can and can't do in the museum—as well it gives us demographic data so that we can go to funding organizations that might help us. We would love to have all this information from our regular members, but we felt that they were giving to help us and we should keep our intrusion on them to a minimum.
There is a saying: Beggars can't be choosers. So if you want a free account then there are things you have to give up. This information is what you give up. Note that if your request doesn't look reasonable or is inconsistent then it is our option to throw it in the round file. One of our staff really reads the form and makes a decision on what they see. You can always make comments on this process in the essay, somebody will read them.
Now don't be irritated it is your choice.
If you want to apply for a 6 month free TVM Scholarship—fill out the following form.
"I think I'll pay the $25 and join the TVM support team."
"No thanks ... take me back to the Museum, I'll settle for small images."
